Grenadine’s is a tiny little place along the bustling Cedar street of Dobbs Ferry. Armed with two crepe griddles, a variety of sweet and savory crepes are expertly churned out. With a choice between buckwheat or regular white flour crepes, I settled on the Brie crepe. The brie crepe is filled with fig jam, brie and apples. A lovely combination that lay more on the sweet side than the savory. To accompany my crepe, I had a mint iced tea. The iced tea was a bit underwhelming. Nothing special. The crepe on the other hand was well made. I kind of wish there was a touch more brie though.
For dessert, I split a nutella crepe with the group. Made with restraint on the Nutella and accompanied with a good amount of whipped cream, it was perfect as a dessert.
The czar says: Grenadine’s crepes aren’t as large and filling as the ones found at Auray’s, but they practice a good restraint in both menu offerings and quality. A nice place to grab a crepe as a snack or a light breakfast. Don’t expect anything fancy to wash it down with.
