Sylvia:
After a little pre-breakfast snack at Susan Lawrence, we headed to the Chappaqua Restaurant & Cafe for more substantial fare.
The space is pretty small with booths lining the walls and larger round tables in the center. On top of the tables, instead of the usual ad filled paper placemats, we found small cutting boards acting as placemats instead. Interesting touch.
I had two eggs with sausage, potatoes and an english muffin. Nothing spectacularly noteworthy. The potatoes were cooked well, cubed and crispy.
Jeffrey had one of the crepe offerings. His crepe was filled with cheddar, potatoes and ham. He said it was good for a crepe, again nothing spectacularly noteworthy.
Reid had a belgium waffle with sliced fresh strawberries. He was quite pleased that the strawberries were fresh and plentiful and basically covered the entire waffle.
The czar says: Even though it’s the neighborhood diner, complete with Chappaqua prices, it is no greasy spoon. A good place to breakfast with the family when muffins and croissants won’t cut it.
