Strawberry Place

15 Jul

:a_Top:

72 S Broadway
Nyack, NY 10960 (Map)
(845) 358-9511

Don’t worry, the WBC realizes that Nyack isn’t in Westchester. But we thought that after 2 + years of breakfasting, it was time to pay a visit to our neighbors across the river. A charming little place called, well, Strawberry Place drew our hungry stomachs over the Tappan Zee. Plus there was a street fair! How’d the morning shape up? Time to find out, hungry readers.

Terra Rustica

Terra Rustica, take two. It’s actually been  about two and a half years since our first visit, so the WBC thought we should see if Terra Rustica stood up to our two visit rule (the famous rule, of course, that if we like a breakfast place as much on the second visit as we did on the first, then it’s a keeper in our breakfast book). So did Terra Rustica stand the test of time?

Another simple morning meal for the WBC, this time at Black Cow Coffee Company in Pleasantville. We cooled down as the temperatures rose, and jumped up every 30 minutes to re-feed our parking meters. Did the Cow make us go “Moo” ?

The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer kept some of the WBC away this week. But Sylvia and Reid braved the heat to sample the offerings at the charming Cooked & Co. in Scarsdale. You know the drill.

Who is this Justin Thyme and more importantly, how was his brunch? And who’s Susan? The WBC found out…sort of.

Roasted Peppers

27 May

:a_Top:

320 Mamaroneck Avenue
Mamaroneck, NY 10543 (Map)
(914) 341-1140
 www.roastedpeppersny.com

The WBC has become wary of certain restaurants that offer brunch. At specific types of cuisines (like Moroccan, Mexican), we’ve found that the offerings for brunch are just meals pulled from the regular menu with eggs piled on top. Would this be the case at Roasted Peppers? Thankfully not, and for the first time in awhile, we all left pleasantly surprised.
